Silk City Recording Artist Son Lewis (NOW BASED IN THE POCONOS) has been an active figure on the US music scene since the early 1970’s. He has worked in performance with Alan Camlet on Drums and Rich Downes on Bass and Vocals for nearly 20 years and has their music featured on TV in NCIS and in independent films, as well as world-wide Blues Radio and Podcasts… He has proven to be a faithful and loving interpreter of various guitar styles in live performance, TV, radio, and on recordings. Son has toured and appeared as on opening act in concert for John Hammond, Hubert Sumlin, Leon Redbone, Jimmy Thackery & The Drivers, Peter Tork, Tracy Nelson, Mose Allison, Catfish Keith, Rick Danko, Rick Derringer, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Elvin Bishop, The Nighthawks, Johnny Copeland, Savoy Brown, Frankie Lee, The Reddan Brothers, The Manhattan Transit and Melissa Manchester.
The lessons for each student will be customized around their goals and objectives and the unique amount of time they can devote to practice… we lead very busy lives and instructors need to understand the student’s other obligations. The lessons should be fun and relaxed…. feel free to mess up and make mistakes because that’s how we discover some really cool things about the instrument and the notes… I will help you understand that there is a very small part of the guitar neck that you need to focus on and that all those strings and all those frets aren’t as daunting as they appear… Most of all, I hope I will help you love the guitar or the bass guitar as much as I have come to love them.
