Playing the Flute should be F-U-N!
But…it does take time, effort and dedication to improve. Lessons include technical material as well as solos, duets and sight reading. I teach from the philosophy that the “music tells you exactly what to do.” Not only do I focus on the proper flute techniques to begin to master the instrument but, I also include music theory into all lessons. Students will gain knowledge that only one on one personal instruction can provide.
Teaching Info
I teach to the student’s needs. I ask the student what he/she would like to accomplish and work toward that goal with encouragement. I have high standards but not unreasonable expectations.
Elaine was my private flute teacher all throughout my high school music career, and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. She was patient, organized, and helped me improve in a vast majority of areas. I wouldn't be where I am now musically if it weren't for her guidance, and I recommend her to any flute in need of lessons.
