Bio

Coming from a drumming family, which includes my father and brothers, I have been playing behind the kit for some 47 years. My love of music has given me the opportunity to express myself through the drum kit, and my love of teaching and coaching has offered me the unique combination of helping others to become better drummers. I have been a teacher and coach for some 32 years and absolutely love watching people improve, progress and reach their goals.

My teaching focus is a foundationally driven concept, centering on mastering the rudimentary hand, feet and ear skills necessary to grow one’s ability to play in any genre. I am technique driven, practice driven and repetition driven…the key to success always lies in the small repetitions, the things we do that are the groundwork and foundation…not necessarliy the glamorous things, but the grinding things that successful people do everyday.
