Bio

I began studying voice when I was in High School. I received undergraduate and graduate degrees in Vocal Performance, as a Baritone, and taught undergraduate voice at UCSB. Even with years of classical training, I was frustrated by my lack of what I considered an ideal voice and vocal technique. I studied with many teachers, some very well know, but could not find the answers I was looking for until I found Maestro Anthony Frisell. Mr. Frisell directed singers at the Met such as Del Monaco and Lanza, had several of his students sing there, and was the author of the famous books ‘The Tenor Voice’ and ‘The Soprano Voice’. I found my complete voice with the help of his techniques. I have sung in many Operas and also choirs, with great directors such as Robert Shaw. I can help you discover your complete voice, whether you are looking to sing Pop, Theater or Classical, as a soloist or as a chorister. Age doesn’t matter as the technique works for all. Proper posture and breathing are also critical, especially when you first start, and to that end I am also a certified Yoga Instructor in Sivananda Yoga
